I am a Lecturer  of the Department of Information Systems Engineering at the University of Colombo School of Computing.

This website  refers to my personal collection of information describing and documenting my achievements and learning. This has been used as one of the accreditation of my prior experience, my continuing professional development and certification of competences.

This portfolio is structured into five sections. In the first section I give a brief introduction to myself and my progress through personal and academic life. In the second section I have presented a mapping of SEDA values, and SEDA outcomes to portfolio sections. The intention of this mapping is to guide the reader and to summarize the evidence of my commitment to SEDA values and objectives.

This is followed by the  section where I have discussed my personal thoughts (my philosophy) about teaching, my concrete experience from the CTHE course and my observations during the workshops. Also I have briefly described some learning theories which I came across in the CTHE course and what I learnt from the course.

In the next section I have discussed my active experimentation with my academic career which transforms my abstract conceptualization of CTHE course. Further, I have discussed about how I applied the knowledge which I have gained in the CTHE workshop in teaching and learning, to some of my day to day activities. In the Kolb’s learning cycle, this section is placed in the active involvement in teaching and learning followed by some experiences and reflection on my teaching and students learning. Also, I have discussed about how my students and peer commented on my teaching and what actions I took to improve the pitfalls in my teaching and students learning.

To be effective, one should "do the right things" and should "do it right/correctly" “at right time”. My last section shows some of my future plans which will lead me towards my goal, to become an effective academic. And I have concluded my entire portfolio  that the success of life does not depend only in one person but the people around too and the life long reflective practice can polish it further.
